Demo and Grading Project in Virginia Beach
Every piece of land comes with its own unique challenges, and this site in Virginia Beach was no exception. Initially, it was overgrown and cluttered, with obstacles from where the homeowner had started with trying to undertake this grading and demo project themselves. Realizing they were a little over their head they reached out to our team to assist. Our team was up for the challenge, transforming the space into a clean, level area ready for whatever comes next.
A weak and warped deck had been installed on the home some years back and the customer wanted it gone. We started with the demo of it and unknown to all parties' underneath was an existing concrete patio! Free win for the customer on this!
Clearing and grading were the major hurdle of this project. We removed all brush and debris, leaving the land free of clutter and enhancing both safety and aesthetics for the property. From standing water, a ditch line that needed reshaped, and multiple stumps left behind from recent tree removal we wanted to ensure that the water had proper flow away from the home and pool to go into the ditch at the rear of the property.
Effective erosion control and stabilization followed. This ensures the longevity of the work we’ve done, guarding against future challenges like soil erosion and drainage problems. It’s not just about what you see now, but how it serves you in the long run. Tying in the rain gutters to 4" HDPE piping to route the water underground and away from the home to the swale behind it to ensure no more sloppy wet areas in the yard or near the home.
The use of specialized equipment made this process efficient and precise. Our machinery and skilled team worked seamlessly to create a smooth, stable surface. In less time than you might expect, we had the site looking better than ever within a little over 3 days.
