Sometimes a property has more potential than the structure sitting on it. That was exactly the situation here - a 97-acre parcel in Surry, VA with an old home that had run its course. The owner's goal was simple: get rid of what's there and make room for something new. That's where we came in.
Before we put the CAT excavator to work, the site had to be set up right. Multiple roll-off dumpsters staged on-site, debris sorted as we went, and the machine positioned to work through the structure efficiently. Demolition isn't just swinging a bucket and walking away. There's a process to it, and doing it clean matters - especially when a new build is planned for the same footprint.
The structure itself was a modest single-story home. Nothing exotic, but it still takes the right equipment and operator to bring it down without making a bigger mess than necessary. Once the walls came down, we shifted to cleanup - pulling material, filling containers, and scraping the ground down so the site is ready for whatever comes next.
On a parcel this size, the cleared area is just one small piece of the overall picture. The property has open fields, wooded sections with established pine, and plenty of room to work with. Knowing how to navigate a job like this - where the build site sits in relation to the rest of the land - is part of what makes the difference between a clean outcome and a headache.
This is the kind of work we do regularly across Surry County and the surrounding area. Whether it's a full teardown, land prep, or getting a site ready for a new home, we bring the equipment and the experience to handle it start to finish.
