Manhole Cleaning and Pipe Replacement in Chesterfield

When a newly built mulching facility in Chesterfield County needed to close out their permits, the drainage system had to pass inspection first. That meant two things - manholes packed with debris that needed to be cleared, and a section of 18-inch HDPE pipe underground that had been damaged and was not going to pass. No inspection, no permits. No permits, no operations. The pressure was real.

We rolled in with our vacuum excavator and got to work on the manholes first. The vac unit pulls debris out efficiently without tearing anything up, which matters a lot on an active commercial site surrounded by heavy equipment and material stockpiles. Each manhole got cleaned out completely and left ready for the inspector's eyes.

Then came the pipe. We excavated down to expose the damaged section, pulled it out, and dropped in new 18-inch HDPE to replace it. The trench got properly compacted back on top once the new pipe was set. You can see the section of corrugated pipe sitting in the excavated trench - that is what going from broken underground infrastructure to a clean, inspection-ready install looks like.
