When a builder is getting ready to break ground, erosion and sediment controls aren't optional - they're required. And getting them installed right from the start keeps the site in compliance and protects surrounding properties from sediment runoff. That's exactly what we were called out to handle on two lots here in Smithfield, VA.

We installed construction entrances on both lots, which is the stabilized gravel pad you see at each entry point. Those pads serve a real purpose - they knock mud and debris off vehicle tires before they hit the road, which keeps the surrounding streets clean and helps the site stay compliant with local erosion control requirements. Get that detail wrong and it becomes a problem fast.

Along with the construction entrances, we ran silt fencing around the perimeter of both lots. The fencing acts as a barrier that slows water runoff and captures sediment before it can leave the site. Every post needs to be set correctly and the fabric needs to be trenched in at the base - otherwise it doesn't hold up when the rain comes. We don't cut corners on that.

Builders rely on us because we understand what's required before a shovel hits the ground. Erosion and sediment control work has to be done in the right sequence, and it has to be done to spec. Two lots, construction entrances, silt fencing - clean installs on both.
