Cell Tower Pad Expansion with Full Site Prep in Chester VA

We do more than just residential work. When a cell tower operator needed more room to add equipment and services to their site in Chester, VA, they called us. The pad wasn't big enough. Trees were in the way. Old fencing needed to come out. And the site had drainage issues that had to be addressed before any new components could go in.

Here's what the scope looked like: tree clearing, old fence removal, regrading the entire area, installing silt fencing to keep sediment in check, cutting in a drainage swale, and then importing and placing 57 stone and rip rap. That's a full site package - not just pushing dirt around.

The silt fencing went in first. That's not optional on a job like this - it's required to control erosion and protect the surrounding area while the ground is disturbed. Once that was in place, we got to work clearing trees and opening up the pad area. The CAT 307.5 was the right machine for the job - compact enough to work in a tight wooded site, but capable enough to handle the clearing and grading work efficiently.

After the trees were out and the grade was set, we brought in the stone. The 57 stone cover the expanded pad surface and give the equipment a stable, well-draining base. The rip rap lines the swale and slope as well as protects against erosion where water flow is concentrated. Both materials are doing a specific job - this isn't just rock thrown on the ground.
