This one was a great site to work on. A 2-acre peninsula property right along the Chickahominy River - the kind of land that has serious potential but needs real work before anything can be built. Dense tree cover, brush, and all the material that comes with a wooded waterfront lot. That's exactly what we were brought in to handle.
We cleared the entire 2 acres - trees down, brush out, everything chipped and hauled off the property. No leaving piles behind for someone else to deal with. When we clear a site, we clear it. The CAT excavators did the heavy lifting, and the chipper kept the debris moving so the site stayed organized throughout the process.
Waterfront properties come with added responsibility. When you're working near a river, erosion control isn't optional - it's required, and it has to be done right. We installed silt fencing along the perimeter and set up a proper construction entrance to keep sediment off the road and out of the water. You can see the orange silt fence staked in along the cleared edges, doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
A lot of contractors treat erosion controls as an afterthought. We build it into the job from the start. On a peninsula site next to the Chickahominy, proper sediment management protects the land, keeps you compliant, and sets the next phase of construction up for success. That's how we approach every clearing job around Toano and the surrounding area.
The site is now clean, open, and ready for whatever comes next - whether that's a home build, a dock, or development. From dense woods to a cleared and protected building pad, this is the kind of full-service land work we do every day.
