When Our Community Needs a Hand, We Show Up

DirtWorks of Virginia goes beyond contracts, delivering community support by stepping up for a local animal sanctuary in need.

At DirtWorks of Virginia, we believe being a contractor is about more than moving dirt, operating equipment, and completing projects. It’s also about being part of the communities we serve and helping out when we can.

Recently, we had the opportunity to help a local animal sanctuary that was working to improve access to their facility. They had already lined up another contractor to complete the work, but unfortunately, the project kept getting pushed back. After 13 cancellations and rescheduled dates, the sanctuary was still waiting for someone to show up.

That’s when they reached out to us.

We visited the property, looked over what needed to be done, and saw an opportunity to help. The sanctuary had already purchased the necessary pipe and stone and had the required permits in place. What they needed was the equipment, manpower, and someone willing to actually show up and get the job done.

So we did.

In fact, when we had an opening in our schedule, we were able to show up two days earlier than we originally scheduled and get the project completed.

Our team supplied the equipment and manpower necessary to install the entrance, utilizing the materials the sanctuary had already purchased. What could have continued to be a frustrating situation became a completed project that gave the sanctuary the access they needed.

For us, that’s what taking care of the community looks like.

We know that not every job is about making the biggest profit or landing the biggest contract. Sometimes it’s about helping an organization that does important work, showing up when someone else didn’t, and using the equipment and experience we have to make a difference.

The people and organizations in our communities count on local businesses to be there—not just when there’s money to be made, but when there’s a need.

We’re proud to be a local contractor that shows up, gets the job done, and gives back to the communities we call home.

At DirtWorks of Virginia, we’re proud to serve communities throughout the 804 and 757, and we’re always grateful for opportunities to put our equipment and our people to work for a good cause.

Sometimes doing the right thing is as simple as showing up.
